Senator Carl Marcellino in Northport

Marcellino will host a Q&A at 7 p.m. What questions would you ask him?

State Sen. Carl Marcellino, R-Syosset, will host a town hall-style Q&A meeting at the Northport on Woodside Avenue (off Main) tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to talk with constituents about how proposed laws will affect their lives, and to relay information on bills, committee hearings, resolutions, and floor activity.

Marcellino and State Sen. John Flanagan, R-East Northport, recently signed a letter to the Suffolk County Department of Health opposing the at the proposed in East Northport. 

The letter is attached as a PDF. The Department of Health is expected to decide on the plant this month.

Elwood group "," formed with the encouragement of the Elwood Board of Education, are urging Marcellino and others to lobby for , asking for the public's help in identifying three mandates most critically in need of reform. One mandate suggested at a late November meeting was the 1982 Triborough Amendment which prevents public employers from altering any provision, including increment, in an expired labor agreement until a new agreement is reached.
