Long River in KP, in the LIRR station parking lot. There is no comparison between this family-owned Chinese RESAURANT. The ones in the pics are Chinese TAKEOUT, with a seating area. There is a world of difference.
The food at Long River is tasty, freshly-prepared and reasonably-priced, although it is more than the takeout places. You get what you pay for. Also, Charlie, the owner will prepare food to order, for example if you want garlic sauce in a dish that normally takes brown sauce, or vice versa. They are very accommodating. I have never had a bad meal there.

Tung Ting used to be our favorite dine in restaurant. For takeout Happy Wok is very close and convenient and they are always good with special orders or requests. Also Jade Palace in East Northport is nice for dine in or takeout - they have wonderful steamed dumplings (not too doughy)

Wok on the Dock - even though it's been gone @ 10 years - best Chinese food on the planet!

Unfortunately, the Chinese restaurants around Northport are nothing to get excited over. Travel into Flushing if you want fresh authentic Chinese food. For years now, Flushing has surpassed Chinatown. World of difference to the Americanized version we're used to getting. Not saying local is bad, just unremarkable.
