Photos: Northport Hurricane Irene Coverage

Hurricane Irene blew through Long Island, leaving Northporters to clean up in the aftermath.

It was a storm like no other.

The threat of a hurricane sent Long Islanders scrambling for supplies and to secure property. Then the fear of flooding forced some to evacuate.

And finally Hurricane Irene hit Long Island early Sunday. Northport weathered the storm mostly intact. Trees and power lines fell. There was flooding. But there was no loss of life.

Here is the story of a storm in photos.
