Nov. 9: Emergency Alert Test; Town Board Meets

Hello and welcome to the Wednesday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

1. Weather: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise sunny with a high near 63.

2. Emergency Alert System: FEMA will conduct the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) at 2 p.m.to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism. TV programs will be disrupted for approximately 30 seconds during the test.

3. Huntington Town Board: The Huntington Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. at Town Hall on 100 Main Street in Huntington.

4. Divorce Support Group: The in East Northport will host a confidential divorce care support group at 7 p.m. for men and women who are divorced or going through a divorce. FREE
