Northport Memorial Day Parade Set

The Northport American Legion Post 694 will hold their annual Memorial day parade Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m.

The parade will begin at the Laurel Avenue School and proceed down Main Street to the World War II memorial where a ceremony will take place.

The procession will pause to place wreaths at several locations honoring veterans. They are:

  • Civil War monument at Main and Church streets in front of the
  • World War I monument at Main Street and Woodside Avenue on the front lawn of the ;
  • Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom monument in front of the main firehouse;
  • World War II monument as well as the 'Anchor of Hope,' both at Main Street and Bayview Avenue;
  • Korean and Vietnam wars monument at Main Street and Woodbine Avenue; 
  • the military women’s monument on the south side of Main Street near Northport Harbor;
  • Vietnam War monument on the north side of Main Street near the harbor;
  • World War I monument at the base of the flag pole.
