Northport Library Repair Continues

Parking lot and sidewalk off Scudder Avenue get needed fixes.

The parking lot behind the  will remain closed for at least another week as crucial construction continues on the lot, sidewalk, stairs and ramps, the library announced Friday.

The $55,000 project, partially funded through a $20,000 state construction grant, became necessary in the fall after settling issues on the property caused the parking area and sidewalk to sag, according to Northport-East Northport Public Library Assistant Director James Olney.

Fixing it became a safety issue, but also allowed the library to make functional changes.
