Northport Family Fun Night; Village Board Meeting

Hello and welcome to the Tuesday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

2. Northport Family Fun Nights Begin: The fun starts with a crazy hair/hat contest on Aug. 7 featuring music by DJ Tommy Bruno and performances by the . "Liverpool Shuffle," a Beatles cover band, will play music by Skippers and the Northport Jazz Band will play by Heartichoke. 6-9 p.m. on Main Street. FREE. See a full schedule of events .

3. Northport Village Board Meeting (Early Start): The Northport Board of Trustees resumes their regular schedule of meetings an hour early at 5 p.m. Andrew Cangemi, Chair of Northport's Zoning Board will discuss and inform attendees of the operation of the ZBA. ***There is NO MEETING tonight. The correct meeting date is Aug. 14 at 5 p.m.***

4. Blood Drive: The summer is a time when blood supply is low.  If you are a healthy adult or teen(16 or over.  16 year olds require a note from parent or guardian), please come and donate blood.  It could save a life. 2:45-8:45 p.m. at .

5. Long Island Accordion Night: Soprano vocalist Connie Shakalis and accordionist Dominic Karcic will perform favorites from Broadway, opera, and jazz. The Long Island Accordion Alliance meets at La Villini every first Tuesday evening of each month. 7-9:30 p.m. at .
