Northport Family Fun Night; Village Board Meeting

Hello and welcome to the Tuesday edition of the "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

1. Weather: Isolated showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Northport Family Fun Night: Performers from "The Rock Underground" music school will take center stage for Glee Night. Groups of four or more kids and teens can participate in a Glee dance contest to their favorite songs, provided they bring their own music. 3.  Northport Village Board Meeting (Early Start): The Northport Board of Trustees resumes their regular schedule of meetings an hour early at 5 p.m. in Village Hall.

4. Huntington Town Board Meeting: The Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. in Town Hall to hear public opinion on consolidation of the Highway and Public Works Department. The measure would abolish the General Services Department and make the Highway Superintendent an appointed position. Read more .
