Nina's Hosts Pizza Eating Contest for St. Baldrick's

will host its 10th Annual Pizza Eating Contest benefiting St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Teams of two will collect donations and compete to finish a 30-inch cheese pizza with the fastest time.

Main Street will be closed between Laurel Ave. and Norwood Ave. from 12 to 5 p.m. for a street festival that will feature moon bounces, video game trailers, live entertainment, raffles, arts and crafts, giveaways, contests
and more.

The Pizza Eating Contest will begin at 2 p.m., and participants can register in person or online at www.StBaldricks.org/event/NinasPizza. Teams are asked to raise $100.00 for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and competitors will receive t-shirts and prizes.

Many local businesses have generously contributed to the raffle, including The Window Shop Jewelers, Carole’s Corner, Riverhead Building Supply, Wilkes’s Gallery, Einstein’s Attic, Maroni’s Restaurant, Kasper’s Hot Dogs, and the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport. Additional raffle prizes have been received from the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, New York Jets, New York Giants, New Jersey Devils, Adventureland, Southwest Airlines, and Vineyard Vines.

will be back to defend their title. Phillip Kraese of South Huntington and James Finnegan of Port Jefferson Station, annihilated a 30-inch cheese pie in a record 16 minutes. They were neck in neck with one other team at the sixteenth minute when Finnegan closed his mouth on the sole remaining crust, breaking 2010's record of 17 minutes and winning them a place in Nina's hall of fame.
