March 21: Northport Trustees Meeting; Social Dining at Tim's Shipwreck

Hello and welcome to the Wednesday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

2. Northport Board of Trustees: The Northport Village Board will meet at at 6 p.m. tonight. The meeting has been rescheduled from Tuesday due to the election.

3. 'A Taste of Northport' at Tim's Shipwreck Diner: The second installment of 's new social dining series in honor of its 50th anniversary. The evening will feature chili with fixings, beer and wine at at 7:30 p.m.  Seating is limited to the first 50 paid reservations, and the cost is $25 for members; $30 for non-members. You may make reservations by calling 631-757-9859, ext. 301.

4. Meet Author Anne Candeo: Planning a wedding can really be murder! That’s what a bride discovers in Till Death Do Us Purl, ’s newest murder mystery. Author Anne Canadeo lives—and knits—in Northport. This is her fourth mystery featuring the Black Sheep knitting circle. She has also authored the popular Thomas Kinkade series writing under the name Katherine Spencer. Copies of Till Death Do Us Purl will be available for purchase and signing. 5. PTA Blood Drive: 3 p.m. at Pulaski road Elementary School.
