Liquor Store Returning to Main Street?

Businessman seeks to put liquor store at old GAP location.

A businessman is looking to put a liquor store specializing in fine wines into the space that once housed The GAP.

A notice posted on the window at 83 Main Street, shows that Osso Rosso, Inc. has filed with the State for an off-premise liquor license. Terry White, listing agent with Adelaid Byers Realty, said the man's lease is contingent upon him getting the license.

A cafeteria, a grocery store, a cell phone store, a health food store, and a furniture store are among the many businesses proposed to fill the space vacated by The GAP over six years ago.

Tammy Walsh, a Northport teacher and leader of a substance abuse prevention group, proposed a teen recreation center on the second floor of the building in early July.
