State Sporting Licenses on Sale

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Sporting Licenses will go on sale at the Town Clerk's office on Monday, Aug. 13.

Aug. 13 is also the date for the beginning of the Deer Management Permits Instant Lottery. The deadline is close of business on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012.

Senior citizens over the age of 70 can purchase lifetime licenses for $65. A Lifetime Resident Sportsman License combines small game, big game and fishing privileges, and also includes turkey permits. A Senior Citizen Lifetime Fishing License can also be purchased for $65.

“You must continue to register for the 2012 annual Recreational Marine License, without charge, through my office or a registered agent by January 1, 2013.  Those who possess a Lifetime recreational Marine License, Lifetime Combination or a 2012 annual Recreational Marine License are not required to register this year,” said Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia. 

“As part of my renewal-by mail program which I instituted over 25 years ago, applications and letters of instruction have been mailed to residents who have purchased a license last year. First time applicants this year will be automatically included in next year’s renewal-by-mail program.”
