Huntington Area 9/11 Memorial Services

A list of 11th anniversary memorial services in the area.

Huntington lost 43 residents in the 9/11 attacks 11 years ago. Here is a list of memorials around Town where you can pay your respects.

  • The will hold their annual morning and evening memorials at 9:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at headquarters on Larkfield Road and 9th Avenue. During the ceremony, firefighters will read the  victim’s names and the sirens will be sounded at the times the Twin Towers collpased. The Northport High School Tights will be singing the  National Anthem and America the Beautiful, with Amazing Grace played by the and there will be a 21-Gun Salute from the  Marine Corps League and the release of Memorial Doves. A Memorial Banner will be displayed on a fire engine that lists all of the victim’s names. The service will conclude with the singing of God Bless America by Allision Day. The piece of steal given to the East Northport Fire Department by the Port Authority will also be on display.
  • The Town of Huntington will hold its 9/11 ceremony at 12 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial in Heckscher Park on Main Street in Huntington.
  • The Huntington Manor Fire Department will hold a vigil at 8 p.m.
