Get Out! Northport's Weekend Planner: Sept. 28-30

A rundown of family-friendly events this weekend.

It's Friday and you have no idea what to do this weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue with a list of the best bets around town.

Northport Farmers Market: Located at the foot of Main Street at Cow Harbor Parking Lot at the harbor in Northport Village, the Market will include fresh vegetables and fruit from Long Island farmers, fresh fish, grass fed meats, eggs, gourmet foods, fresh pasta, cheese and pickles,, baked goods, gluten free chocolates and cookies, jams, jellies and tapenades, oils, sauces and vinegars, micro brewed beer, handmade soaps, and scrubs, fresh cut flowers, potted plants, perennials and annuals, herbs, treats for your pets, and music for your entertainment. Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Performance by LI Composers Alliance: The Long Island Composers Alliance presents a special concert in honor of composer and Northport resident Walter Schneider. Chamber and piano music by Mr. Schneider and guest LICA composer Jane Leslie will be featured. Sunday, 2 p.m. at Northport Library.

Sweet Charity: Sweet Charity is a Neil Simon musical about the romantic ups-And-downs of an ever-hopeful dance hall hostess, despite endless disappointments and bad luck with men. Fridays At 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets Are $65.00 at the John W. Engeman Theater.

Seussical: Seussical, Part Of Our Youth Theater. Join The Cat In The Hat And All Of Your Favorite Dr. Seuss Characters In A Fantastic Musical Adventure. Saturdays At 11 a.m. And Sundays At 10:30 a.m. Tickets Are $15 At The John W. Engeman Theater.
