Get Out! Northport's Weekend Planner: Oct. 26-28

A rundown of family-friendly events this Halloween weekend.

It's Friday and you have no idea what to do this weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue with the best bets around town.

Haunted Hayride: The Northport Chamber of Commerce Halloween Hayride returns on Sunday from 12-4 p.m. in Village Park. Admission is $3 per person and includes a hayride, 1 pumpkin per child (with ticket, refreshments from Copenhagen Bakery, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, costume contest with prizes, and Halloween treats. Music will be provided by Country Rascals.

Glamour and Gore II - Horror Prom: Join the Strong Island Derby Revolution for a night of fright and freakish fun with full open bar, food, dancing, raffles and best costume contest. $25 Advance tickets available online at woovite.com/horrorprom or from your favorite SIDR rollergirl! 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Moose Lodge.

Paws For A Cause: Halloween Charity Dog Walk & Contest Presented by Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk, East Northport Chamber of Commerce & the Northport Chamber of Commerce. Fun for the whole family! Starts at 505 Main Street & ends at Northport Village Park. After the walk enjoy hay rides and petting zoo!! Registration begins at 10:30 and walk begins at 12:00 noon. Costume Contest & Awards at 11:30. Costume Contest Categories:  Owner/Dog Look Alike, Funniest Dog, Cutest Puppy, Most Original and Children & Doggie Dress-up. You can register on line at www.visitingnurseservice.org. A portion of the proceeds benefit Hospice House in East Northport. Sunday.

Concert: The Northport Arts Coalition, in cooperation with the Library, presents the Cross Island Ensemble. Hailed after their recent Cape Cod performances as “just plain great,” the ensemble features cellist Suzanne Mueller, pianist Elinor Abrams Zayas, and clarinetist Thomas Piercy. Their program is an eclectic mix of duets and trios spanning centuries, continents, and styles—classical, Americana, jazz, and tango. Composers will include Max Bruch, Paul Carlon, Masatora Goya, Mark McCarron, Astor Piazzolla, Franz Schubert, Rick Sowash, and more. A meet-the-artists reception will follow. 7:30 p.m. on Northport Library.

Northport Farmers Market: Located at the foot of Main Street at Cow Harbor Parking Lot at the harbor in Northport Village, the Market will include fresh vegetables and fruit from Long Island farmers, fresh fish, grass fed meats, eggs, gourmet foods, fresh pasta, cheese and pickles,, baked goods, gluten free chocolates and cookies, jams, jellies and tapenades, oils, sauces and vinegars, micro brewed beer, handmade soaps, and scrubs, fresh cut flowers, potted plants, perennials and annuals, herbs, treats for your pets, and music for your entertainment. Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Howl-ween Dog Parade: Once again the picturesque Village of Cold Spring Harbor is the place to be on Saturday, Oct. 27 (rain date: Oct. 28) at noon for the “6th Annual Howl-ween: Corky’s Canine Costume Parade Celebration and Paws for a Cause Event.” This spectacular star-studded celebration, produced by Nightingale PR, features an exciting street sale, a luxury, classic car show in the park, live music and the most elaborate parade of canines in costumes.  The event honors the memory of Corky Nightingale, the adorable Westy who served as Parade Grand Marshal and mascot for years and was the inspiration for this very special celebration. Saturday at 12 p.m.

Spooky Sea Creature Festival: A festival of crafts, treats, fun and educational games all with a Spooky Sea Creature theme! Hands on time with our live marine animals! $5 per child, recommended for ages kindergarten through grade 5. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain date Oct. 28. 1 p.m. at Fuch's Preserve in Northport.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser at Wine Cellar on Main: Please join us in raising money for an important cause to all. Proceeds will be benefiting The Women's Center at Huntington Hospital. $10 donation at the door, raffles from local vendors, 50/50, pink hair extensions, cash bar. Saturday at The Wine Cellar on Main at 2 p.m.
