Get Out! Northport's Weekend Planner: July 20-22

A rundown of family-friendly events this weekend.

Free Outdoor Concert: play folk, country, and popular music at the Northport Village Park Patio (by the dock) on Friday at 7 p.m. Lawn chairs/blankets suggested. Weather permitting. FREE.

One Act Play Festival: The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport Village are holding their first ever One Act Play Festival entitled "IT HAPPENED ONE ACT," coming off their successful Spring staging of “The Nerd!” Performances will be one weekend only on Saturday, July 21 at 8 P.M and a 3 P.M. matinee performance on Sunday, July 22 at Houghton Hall - Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change: This laugh-inducing, award-winning musical comedy about love in the suburbs, is a touching and insightful look at love and relationships. Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. also available.  Tickets are $60 at the John W. Engeman Theater

Kayak For A Cause XII: Kayak For A Cause will be holding their annual fundraiser that brings kayakers and their favorite charities together to help raise money for causes that focus on ways to protect the environment and our community. 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Crab Meadow Beach in Northport on Staurday. $100 to participate. Northport Farmers Market: Located at the foot of Main Street at Cow Harbor Parking Lot at the harbor in Northport Village, will include fresh vegetables and fruit from Long Island farmers, fresh fish, grass fed meats, eggs, gourmet foods, fresh pasta, cheese and pickles, baked goods, gluten free chocolates and cookies, jams, jellies and tapenades, oils, sauces and vinegars, micro brewed beer, handmade soaps, and scrubs, fresh cut flowers, potted plants, perennials and annuals, herbs, treats for your pets, and music for your entertainment. Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

RAPUNZEL–A Tangled Fairytale: Part of the Youth Theater Series sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Running from July 14, 2012 to August 19, 2012 and will play the following performance schedule: Saturdays at 11:00am and Sundays at 10:30am. Tickets are $15 at the John W. Engeman Theater.
