'Basketball Junkie' Book Signing: The Northport Community Book Club and Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force celebrate recovery at Book Revue in Huntington beginning at 6:15 p.m. with community members who will share their stories and their paths to recovery. At 7:00 p.m., they will be joined by Chris Herren, for a signing of his book, Basketball Junkie. All signed books need to be purchased here at Book Revue.

Szokoli-Romaine Family Fundraiser: The Fr. Thomas A. Judge Knights of Columbus Council #6893 will host a “Knight at the Races” to benefit the family of Mary Kate Szokoli at the K of C hall at the Hewitt Square shopping center in East Northport at 8 p.m. Ms. Szokoli, who, was the daughter of Past Grand Knight Jerry Romaine and his wife Betty. She was only 30 years old and a popular teacher at Harley Avenue Elementary School in East Northport. Mary Kate is survived by her husband Brian and two infant daughters, Camryn and Riley. A donation of $25 includes a hot buffet, beer, wine and soda which will be served at 7 p.m. prior to the start of the program.
Opera Night: See Long Island's best singers perform opera classics at St. Paul's United Methodist at 7:30 p.m. $10 donation.

My Furry Valentine: What better way to let love shine than to have a Valentine's Day photo with your pet? On Saturday February 4th, 11am -4pm, @ Groomingdale's of Northport, 377 Fort Salonga Road, Northport, NY Furry Paws Pet Portraits will photograph your pet for a $10 donation. There will also be a bake sale and raffles. This event will benefit the League for Animal Protection of Huntington, Inc. a non-profit, all volunteer organization.
