Hello and welcome to the Thursday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

2. Elwood BoE Meeting: Get your pencils out because it's budget time. The Elwood BoE will hold a budget work session at 7:30 p.m. in the library. Look for the meeting agenda on Patch at 10 a.m. See coverage of the Nov. 17 BoE meeting .

3. Book Club: The will be Skyping with author Mia Fontaine to discuss her book "Comeback: A Mother and Daughter's Journey to Hell and Back" at the . 7 p.m. FREE.  

4. CPR for Teens: Taught by an American Red Cross instructor at , students learn the lifesaving technique of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for an adult/child and training in the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). $76.50 with recreation ID car, $85 without. 7-10 p.m.
