Child/Dog Safety Workshop; Caribbean Steel Drum Jamboree

Five things to know or do in the community.

Hello and welcome to the Wednesday edition of the "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

1. Weather: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

2. Child/Dog Safety Workshop: Children ages 5-10. Free and available for parents and children but please, no dogs. Register with the store because there is limited space available. Teaching how to be safe around dogs, answering questions and more. Just Dogs Gourmet Barkery from 6:30-8 p.m.

3. Caribbean Steel Drum Jamboree: Steel Impressions, the premier steel drum band in the New York area, performs authentic Caribbean music including calypso, reggae, and soca tunes on state-of-the-art steel pans. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the sounds of summer! In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Library’s Community Room and NENPL Library Card holders will be seated first. 7:30 p.m. at .
