"Saratoga Race Track: The Back Stretch" Photo Exhibit Opens At Northport Tasting Room & Wine Cellar

Jennifer Stearns Lau explores the world of thoroughbred horses and their trainers in exhibit which runs through August 4.

Northport resident Jennifer Stearns Lau’s solo photographic exhibit, “Saratoga Race Track: The Back Stretch,” opened at the last Sunday.

This body of work, which includes both color and black and white images, provides an intriguing behind-the-scenes perspective on the world of thoroughbred racehorses and their trainers.

Lau, who is known for her stunning attention to detail, also has a keen eye for color.  Her photographs resonate with personality and intelligence of these elite horses, the intimate bond between horse and trainer, and the earthy beauty of saddles, riding accoutrements, and the well-trodden racing track.

The exhibit, displayed under the aegis of the Northport Arts Coalition  at the  Northport Tasting Room & Wine Cellar, 70 Main St., Northport, runs through August 4.

Lau’s work is  also on exhibit  at the Firefly Artists Cooperative, located at 127 Main Street, Northport Village inside LaMantia Gallery, and  can be viewed at jenniferlauphotography.com.
