Northport Chamber of Commerce Elects New President

Debi Triola of Fashions in Flowers to succeed Flemming Hansen of Copenhagen Bakery.

Debi Triola, owner of Fashions in Flowers, was elected Northport Chamber of Commerce President last Tuesday. She will replace outgoing President and Copenhagen Bakery Owner Flemming Hansen.

Triola is a 23-year Fort Salonga resident and has been the owner of Fashions in Flowers, Northport's oldest flower shop, for the last eight years. 

"I think the world of Northport village and will do anything I can to let people know about how great it is and bring people into the community," she said.

Triola will serve as chamber president for one year. She looks forward to enhancing the Chamber's online presence as well as the social media presence of other business in the community.

"We'll help the businesses learn a little more and how they can do it themselves," she said.

She also looks forward to continuing the chamber's annual events such as Tuesday Family Nights, the Summerfest concerts, and the Halloween hayride.

"We hope to work to make each one bigger and better every year," she said.

Bobby Scherer, owner of Scherer & Sons Water Gardens, was elected second vice president to replace Debi Triola. He previously served as a board member for a number of years.

The Northport Chamber of Commerce meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at various venues. The next general membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the . For further information please call 631-754-3905.
