Long Island Bagel Cafe Coming to East Northport

Restaurant will occupy part of former post office on Larkfield Road.

Long Island Bagel Cafe, a Long-Island based regional chain, is coming to East Northport at the location of the at Larkfield Road.

Though signs taped to the building say "coming soon," the cafe will likely be open early next year due to remodeling. Once the work is complete, co-owners Joe Anzalone and Randy Narod will begin designing the space, which will likely have a small dining area of about 12 to 14 square feet.

Long Island Bagel Cafe offers old fashioned hand-rolled bagels, a large selection of spreads and salads--"more than any other bagel store," according to Anzalone--as well as freshly made sandwiches, wraps, breakfast items, and beverages, priding themselves in "top notch ingredients and customer service." A copy of their menu is available here.

The chain began in 1986 with Oceanside’s Original 24 Hour Bagel. The company now operates six locations in Nassau and one in Suffolk, as well as Butera's Italian Restaurant in Seaford, DaVinci's Pizzeria in Island Park, and Sugar Dining and Den in Carle Place. This will be their first Huntington location.

Anzalone said community members have been asking him to open up a Long Island Bagel Cafe in East Northport for quite some time, saying that it would be nice to round out the area.

"It looks like they're putting some money into developing that area so we'd love to be a part of it, and we've heard that its a great community to be in--very family oriented--that's what we love."
