Job Fair, Franchising Workshop This Week

The events take place Wednesday and Thursday.

Suffolk residents looking for work may find two local events of interest this week.

There is a job fair on Wednesday, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.  at the South Huntington Public Library at 145 Pidgeon Hill Road in Huntington Station.

Among the many companies recruiting  for workers are Aflac, St. Joseph’s College, Suffolk Community College, UCP of Suffolk, United Healthcare, Urban League Mature Workers Program, Hyatt Regency, Jennifer Furniture, Macy’s, and Community Care Home Health.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is encouraging residents to attend.

“Numerous Long Island companies are in need of the talents our residents have,” he said. “This job fair will give employers and residents an opportunity to connect with each other.”

On Thursday, the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will host a workshop on franchising opportunities. Kensington Company representative Stuart Levenberg will lead the session, which starts at 9:30 a.m.
