Drive down Fort Salonga Road and you will notice some vacant storefronts adorned with "For Rent" signs, a possible indication of the hard times the area — and country — are facing.

This week, we're highlighting the site of the former Mobil gas station at the corner of Vernon Valley and Fort Salonga Roads (840 Fort Salonga Road) adjacent to Dairy Barn.
The property, which sits on a quarter acre plot, has been empty for quite some time. Mogul Realty Group closed on the property, sold by Exxon-Mobil, about four months ago and it is currently on the market with no new developments, a Mogul Realty representative said Tuesday. He added that the property can be converted to other uses.
