Empty in Northport: Former Getty Gas Station

Broker says it likely won't be a gas station. What do you want to see in its place?

Drive down 25A or Main Street and you will notice some vacant storefronts adorned with "For Rent" signs, a possible indication of the hard times the area — and country — are facing.

Northport Patch will spotlight empty properties to foster discussion in the community on what can, should and could be done to rehab abandoned places. This week, we're highlighting the site of the old Getty Gas Station at 831 Fort Salonga Road.

The property is 10,750 square feet, with a 1,769 square foot building and an HB zoning. Premiere Properties Broker Allan Profeta said that the property is in the process of being sold, but could not provide further details. "There's a contract out. It probably won't be a gas station," he said.
