Long Island Youth Orchestra, whose 90 young musicians are in residence at LIU Post in Brookville, held its final concert of the season Sunday at Elwood Middle School.

Led by Music Director and Conductor Scott Dunn, Sunday's performance featured select graduating seniors as soloists. They included Patricia Luecken of Westbury on trumpet, James Kim of Greenlawn on violin, and Jiajun Shan of Woodmere on oboe.

Sunday afternoon brought a program that included Suppe's "Light Cavalry Overture," Bohme's "Concerto in F minor for Trumpet," Vieuxtemp's "Violin Concerto No. 5 in A minor," Saint-Saens "March Militaire Francaise," Hayden's "Concerto for Oboe in C Major" and Tchaikovsky's "March Slave."

Closing out its fifty-first season, the orchestra is holding auditions for next season on June 12 and June 19, and in early September, or by special appointment. Openings include strings, woodwinds and brass. For more information, visit liyo.org.
