Holiday Shows for the Family in Northport

'A Christmas Carol,' 'White Christmas' and 'Frosty' tickets now on sale.

It wouldn’t be Christmas in Northport without the cheery songs and stories to go with it. Luckily, families will have three holiday-themed shows to see this season in town.

Tickets are now on sale at John W. Engeman Theater for Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas,’ which runs from Nov. 21 through Jan. 5. The Christmas classic is based on the 1954 film, in which a pair of army veterans-turned show business buddies, perform at a Vermont inn during Christmas and fall in love with their perfect matches. Tickets are $65.

For children of all ages, ‘Frosty’ brings the magic of the winter season to the stage. In the play, a snowman comes to life with the help of a little girl and a magical scarf. Together they save Chillsville from the evil Ethel Pierpot, who plans to melt all the snow, including Frosty. Children can enjoy this fun twist on the holiday classic from Nov. 30 to Jan. 5. Tickets are $15.

Of course, it wouldn’t feel like a true Christmas without the classic show, ‘A Christmas Carol,’ which will be presented by the Minstrel Players of Northport at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 130 Main St., Northport Village Dec. 13 - 15.

The show is based on Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol.’ It will be the theater group’s eighth time performing the holiday classic.
