When we give of our time and talents we improve the lives of others, strengthen our community, connect with one another, and transform our own lives. Studies suggest that other benefits may come with volunteering. Volunteers have lower rates of depression and lower mortality rates; older volunteers often benefit from increased social and physical activity; children and teens who perform service get to look beyond themselves and understand how they can impact their community.

Have you wanted to share your time and talents as a volunteer but don’t know where to start? Come to the Library’s Volunteer Fair and speak to representatives from local organizations actively seeking volunteers.
