Northport Public Library

A rare treat awaits music lovers of all ages as the Library presents the ZigZag Quartet. This innovative chamber group zigzags through countries, time periods, and stylized dances—from classical to flamenco, Brazilian sambas and Argentinian tangos, to jazz classics.

In 2009, the ZigZag Quartet made its Lincoln Center debut in the David Rubenstein Atrium, where it received accolades for its acoustic blend, versatility, and visually entertaining performance. Comprised of Francisco Roldán (guitar), Alexander A. Wu (piano), Hilliard Greene (double bass), and Danny Mallon (percussion), the ZigZag Quartet has performed extensively, including concerts at Bargemusic’s “Jazz and More” series, Trinity Church on Wall Street, and the Mannes College Guitar Festival. The quartet is scheduled as part of Lincoln Center’s “Meet the Artists” programs for 2012. ZigZag Quartet’s self-titled debut CD was released in 2010.

This program is co-sponsored by the Northport Rotary Club. Registration is underway at either library building or online. (NENA281)

Please note: ticket holders will be seated first. All others will be seated as space permits.

As part of their continued commitment to the veterans of our community, the Rotary Club and the Library are requesting donations of food gift cards or canned food which will be donated to the Northport VA’s Homeless Veterans Program.
