An Artist's Vision of Northport

Juried Art Show Planned As Part of Northport Historical Society’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Artists have been inspired by the natural beauty of our area for centuries. To confirm this inspiration still exists, the Northport Historical Society welcomes contemporary artists to share their perspectives of Northport in a juried exhibition titled, “An Artist’s Vision of Northport.”

This special exhibition is part of the Society’s year long celebration of its 50th anniversary year, and all amateur and professional artists are welcome to enter. The media may be works on paper, watercolor, oil, graphic art, acrylic, pen, ink, lithographs, etchings, monoprints, digital, or photography and are limited to 30” in any direction, including frame. Entries should be submitted as color slides or on a CD and are due no later than August 20, 2012, along with an entry fee of $35 (for up to three entries). Winning artists will be notified on or about September 15, 2012 and will have their work hung and included in a show in autumn of this year at the Society’s gallery. More information and entry forms may be found on the Society’s website (www.northporthistorical.org) or by stopping by the Society at 215 Main Street in the Village of Northport.
