Editor's Pick: 'Music Man'

See it live at Northport's Engeman Theater through May 18.

If you enjoy live theater, be sure to catch Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man,” the Tony-Award winning musical playing now through May 18 at Northport’s Engeman Theater.

The show features a smooth-talking Harold Hill, a traveling salesman who drops in on the folks of River City, Iowa. Hill connives his way into the hearts of the town folks, conning them to purchase instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he promises to get started, even though he knows nothing about playing music.

While he’s there, he falls in love, prompting some in audience to wonder – can a man like Hill change his ways?
