Suspect In Custody, Charged In Four-Day Crime Spree

Suffolk Police have arrested a man they claim stole three vehicles and robbed two banks in a five-day crime spree that stretched from Port Jefferson to Northport.

Police said 44-year-old Barry Napolitano, of Northport, began his stretch of crimes when he stole a 2013 Jeep from a garage at Huntington Jeep in Commack on Sept. 12. Later that day, they said he robbed the Chase Bank on Main Street in Port Jefferson.

Fernando Cabada Takes Reign Over Cow Harbor 10K Run
A four-year reign over the first place title in The Great Cow Harbor Run has been toppled. Fernando Cabada took the title Saturday from Mo Trafeh, who holds the course record. 

Newcomer Wins Women’s Cow Harbor 10K by 1.5 Seconds

Less than two seconds separated the first and second place female finishers in the 36th annual Cow Harbor 10K Run in Northport Village Saturday.

Mattie Suver, a newcomer to the Cow Harbor race, took first place with a finishing time of 33 minutes and 31 seconds. She surpassed Amy Van Alstine in the very last seconds of the race.
