Northport's First Snow of the Season

A light dusting falls on the area Tuesday morning.

Winter doesn't officially start for another month, but Northport saw its first snowfall Tuesday, which left a light dusting around town.

The temperatures took a major dip Tuesday, as well. The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for Long Island from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-to-upper twenties for most of Long Island and the lower twenties in the Pine Barrens.
