After a weeklong winter break, it's time for and students and staff to head back to school.

Here are five other 'good-to-know' things for today:

  1. It's the last day of February and, hopefully, March will be true to this idiom: in like a lion, out like a lamb. Check the weather forecast by hovering over the daily forecast icon next to the Northport Patch logo on the home page.
  2. Northport high schoolers who want to play spring sports need to have their health forms in to the nurse by this Friday.
  3. Today is the last scheduled day to view the LIRR historic artifacts at the  Editor's note: This exhibit goes through May. Patch regrrets the error. 
  4. The Northport-East Northport School District Board of Education i sscheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. See more info here.
  5. The Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet tomorrow night.
