Get Out! Northport's Weekend Planner for July 8-10

Music, Cars, Art and More. Pick and choose from this weekend's variety of events.

It’s Friday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

NORTHPORT'S OUTDOOR FARMER'S MARKET


Where/When: ; Saturday, 8 a.m to 1 p.m. Why Go: Beer? Seafood? Baked Goods? Flowers? And, oh yeah, fresh produce. The real question is, why would you not go? See entire list of vendors via the link above.


Where/When: ; Friday 7:00 p.m. Why Go: Head down to 1014 Coffee House and listen to great acoustic covers of oldies, current popular music and some original music.


Where/When: Fort Salonga, ; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Why Go: Come and enjoy a rally for vintage Porches and other cars. The tour begins from the park and ride off the Long Island Expressway exit 58 and proceeds to the Pindar Vineyards in Peconic. At the end of the rally you are welcome to enjoy an elegant concours with wine and refreshments. Please register in advance. Pricing: $30 for PSA’s, $35 for all other cars.


Where/When: ; Saturday at 1 p.m. Why Go: There will be a fine variety of arts, music, dance, crafts, vendors and more to enjoy. Pricing: Free admission.


Where/When: ; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Why Go: Join the Town of Huntington Animal Shelter, The League for Animal Protection of Huntington and The Grateful Paw Cat Shelter to meet dogs and cats in need of a loving home. All adopted animals are provided with spay/neuter, rabies shot and New York State license. The adoption fee will be waived for this event and, in addition to the adorable dogs and cats, there will be vendors, entertainment, demonstrations, face painting, raffles and more.


Where/When: Huntington Lighthouse, Huntington, NY 11743; Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Why Go: Enjoy an hour long boat tour of the breathtaking Huntington Lighthouse. Pricing: Suggested donation: Adults $10 Seniors $8 Children $5 (under 12/over 5 yrs) Family of 4 $20 All proceeds go to the ongoing preservation and restoration of the Lighthouse.
