It's Friday and Christmas is near and there are lots of ways to celebrate the season in and around Northport.
- The Northport Singles Center, a local group for singles aged 50 and older, will hold its Christmas dinner tonight. See more info here.
- The Northport Middle School Chamber Orchestra will perform at the East Northport library tonight. See more info here.
- Elwood boys and girls basketball teams have games today. The girls will face Shoreham-Wading River at home and the boys will travel to SWR. See more info about the girls' game here, and the boys' game here.
- The Star of Wonder show takes place several times this weekend at the Vanderbilt Planetarium starting at 8 p.m. tonight. See more info here. Laser Zeppelin and Laser Beatles are also scheduled for Friday night.
- Chances to win the Kiwanis Christmas raffle are still available. The prize is a hand-carved 15-piece nativity set. Proceeds to benefit the club's scholarhip fund. The drawing will take place at the Northport Yacht Club Dec. 22. More info here.
