DEC Closes Certified Shellfishing Areas
Temporary emergency closure issued throughout Oyster Bay and Huntington.
The New York Department of Environmental Conservation issued a temporary emergency closure for all normally certified shellfishing lands in Cold Spring Harbor and Oyster Bay Harbor on Saturday due to the presence of a biotoxin.
The areas in Oyster Bay Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor lying southerly of a line extending easterly from the northernmost point of Rocky Point on Centre Island (Town of Oyster Bay) to Whitewood Point on Lloyd Neck (Town of Huntington) are affected.
