Youth Visit New Jersey to help continue the rebuilding due to the Super Storm

On July 14th, a team of youth volunteer's from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in East Northport, NY, left via vans to work with others helping the residents of Keansburg, New Jersey - still reeling from the devastation of Super Storm Sandy. Group Mission Trips an organization overseeing the operation which included over 450 people from across the US and Canada helped run the trip. Sleeping on the floor of Keansburg High School and working throughout the day in over 100 degree temperatures, these youth and their chaperones helped restore homes and most importantly the hearts of the people of Keansburg. Despite accommodations that were not exactly five star, not a single complaint was made. Strong bonds were created between both youth and leaders and connections made with other Christian youth from throughout the country. Plans for next year’s mission trip are already underway. St.Paul's is already planning on heading to Scranton Pennsylvania from July 27th-August 2nd to work in rebuilding areas of that town.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church is located at 120 Vernon Valley Road in East Northport, New York and has been serving Northport, Smithtown, Huntington and the surrounding area for almost 100 years. Please contact us at 631-754-4422 for more information about services and membership.
