Original Toni Twin Bernadette I. Steinhaus of Centerport

Bernadette I. Steinhaus, a Centerport resident for over 57 years passed away on March 8th at the age of 84. Predeased by her husband of 50 years Edward Steinhaus and her Identical Mirror Image Twin Frances Burlingame. Loving mother of Karen Steinhaus, Lorraine Gettis, Claudia Steinhaus and Janet Steinhaus. Grandmother to Edward, Andrew (Mariana), Travis, Emily and Theodore. Great grandmother to Madilyn and Juliana. Bernadette and Frances began their modeling careers under the Edelman Advertising Agency based in Chicago with the "Which Twin has the Toni ?". They appeared in many publications including Look and Life Magazines. While on an international tour in Great Britain in the late 40's Bernadette also sang on BBC Radio. After the twins returned home from touring and retiring from their modeling careers they both worked for New York Telephone Company appearing in their Telephone Review Magazine. Bernadette met her husband Edward when they both worked in Brooklyn for the phone company. They settled in Centerport where Bernadette studied art and became an accomplished water color artist with many shows displaying her work on Long Island. Please visit NTHFH.com for arrangements..
