East Northport Chamber of Commerce Reminds Us of the Definition of Community

This past weekend I had the privilege to participate in the East Northport Festival that started on Friday and ended Sunday. The festival was planned and choreographed by the East Northport Chamber of Commerce with assistance of multiple city agencies and volunteers.  It was a privilege because these people worked the entire year to make this event a fond memory for the thousands of families and their children.  You see, no matter what is happening in our lives the great equalizer that roots us all, is our children and grandchildren and although they may not always tell us thank you I can assure you their smiles and memories to coin a phrase, is “priceless”.

This event was a privilege for me because I got to know some of the chamber members on a more personal level and watched them work for the betterment of the community.  They volunteered their time, money and resources to make the festival a success.  I heard how the proceeds from the festival was going toward projects like Holiday lighting, hanging baskets, etc., all oriented in keeping the community vibrate and beautiful for everyone to enjoy. 

I just wanted to tell everyone involved in the Chamber and all of the volunteers "Thank You" because although I am no longer a child I will enjoy the memory of the next generation of smiles.
