PSAT, Fall Family Day Saturday

Happy Friday, Northport. Here's a look at what residents should know about today in town.

Northport High School students will get a taste of the SAT during a practice exam Saturday. The three-part aptitude test consists of a math, reading and writing section with a total test time of 3 hours and 45 minutes. The test begins at 8 a.m.

Fall Family Day will take place Saturday at on the front lawn of the museum at the Northport Historical Society, located at 215 Main St. from noon until 2 p.m. The day's events feature a variety of crafts projects, activities and an opportunity to learn how to play a number of old-fashioned games. Seasonal refreshments will be served. Members of the Historical Society pay $5 per family. Others pay $10 per family.

Nearby in Huntington this Sunday, families can enjoy an apple festival at the Dr. Daniel W. Kissam House Museum (434 Park Ave.) property from noon until 4 p.m. Children can play traditional games, try out old-time crafts and dance to traditional music.
