The Eaton's Neck Fire Department ushered in the Fourth of July with its usual pageantry.

The 40th annual parade, organized each year by the department along with the Property Owners of Eaton's Neck Beach, showcased both modern and latter-day fire trucks both from Eatons Neck and other local fire departments.

In addition to a cavalcade of vintage and antique cars, there were myriad floats which played on the patriotic theme and marching dignitaries manned by residents of 'the Neck.'

As is tradition, there were good-natured water fights between the residents and the fire departments.

The parade, which stepped off from the Eaton's Neck firehouse promptly at 10 a.m, culiminated in a huge barbecue attended by more than 500 celebrants.
